The 38th annual Pep Boys NHRA Nationals 2023 will take place from September 14–17 at Maple Grove Raceway. It will kick off the NHRA Countdown to the Championship and heat up the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series playoff action. Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers will all be hoping to get their seasons off to a winning start in the first of the NHRA playoffs' six races. The track's idyllic setting in the middle of Amish country provides a stunning visual for the legions of spectators that come to see remarkable performances on the track.
 
In 2019, Brittany Force recorded the fastest run in NHRA history at the venue, clocking in at 3.623 seconds; this is just one of many notable performances that have taken place there over the past nearly four decades. In April, veteran NHRA racer Kenny Koretsky and his family, which includes current Pro Stock driver Kyle Koretsky, bought the track, which has further increased anticipation for this year's Pep Boys NHRA Nationals.
 
Last year's race was won by Tommy Johnson Jr. (Funny Car), Billy Torrence (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock), and Steve Johnson (Pro Stock Motorcycle), and the 2023 playoff-opening will be broadcast on both the FOX broadcast network and Fox Sports 1 (FS1).

The first round of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series qualifying will take place at 4:45 p.m. ET on Friday, 15 September, and the last two rounds will take place at 12:15 and 3:45 p.m. ET on Saturday, 16 September. On Sunday, September 17, at 10:30 a.m. ET is the time for the final eliminations. On Friday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. ET and 11:00 a.m. ET, respectively, FS1 will air qualifying action. At 2:00 or 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, FOX will air eliminations.
