The FIA World Endurance Championship announced a new six-year partnership with Qatar. They recently announced that the Lusail International Circuit will be the venue for the season opener of the WEC in 2024, with the race being named the 6 Hours of Qatar.
 
The 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans press conference unveiled the new title for the race as Qatar 1812 km. The decision to rename the race in honor of Qatar's National Day on December 18 was finalized, with a new strict time limit of 10 hours.
