2023 Grand Prix of Portland Live Online

Portland International Raceway in Portland, Oregon will host the IndyCar Series 2023 Grand Prix of Portland from September 1-3, 2023. From 1984 until 2007, the event was conducted each year as a CART series race and took place as a part of the Champ Car World Series. After a ten-year break, the race was reinstated to the IndyCar schedule in 2018.

Portland International Raceway:

In 1961, the Portland International Raceway was established in the former location of the village of Vanport, which had been destroyed by the Memorial Day flood of 1948. A rapid curve at the end of the front stretch, a right-hander turn 7 heading to the rear, and turns 3 leading to the front side are among the numerous overtaking points on the 12-turn, 1.964-mile dirt track.

The 1997 race at Portland International Speedway still holds the record for the closest finish on a road or on the street, according to Mark Miles, CEO of Hulman and Company, the company that owns the Verizon IndyCar brand.
