The North Wilkesboro Speedway is back on the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series schedule after a 25-year hiatus. This year's eagerly awaited NASCAR All-Star Race promises to be an exciting spectacle for stock car racing enthusiasts. It will take place on 21 May 2023 and consists of 200 laps which cover 125 mi (201 km).

Throughout the three-day weekend, the All-Star Race, in addition to other events, will take place on the restored track that is renowned for its distinctive qualities, namely the uphill backstretch, which has been reinstated to their previous grandeur. All-Star Race Eligibility Criteria

 

Those who are eligible to participate in the All-Star Race include race victors from the prior season to the Goodyear 400 event at Darlington Raceway in 2023, past winners of the All-Star race, NASCAR Cup champions who have endeavored to qualify for every 2022 race, the top two winners of the All-Star Open, and the winner of the fan vote.

NASCAR All-Star Race Qualifying:

 

For the All-Star Race weekend, qualifying plays a crucial role in deciding the starting order for the All-Star Open and the All-Star Heat Races. In order to qualify for the 2023 event, drivers and their crews will need to take on a pit crew challenge, which involves successfully completing a speedy and precise four-tire pit stop.

 

All-Star Heat Races:

In the All-Star Race event, drivers participate in two consecutive 60-lap races known as Heat Races. These races contribute towards establishing the starting positions for the main All-Star Race. Each lap is crucial as it adds up to the final results from both Heat Races. The first Heat Race determines the starting positions for the inside row of the All-Star Race whilst the second Heat Race decides the starting positions for the outside row. All-Star Heat Race tire rules require competitors to start on sticker tires and have a spare set of tires in their pit box.

The NASCAR All-Star Race total prize money is $1 million.
